Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has decided to resign from his post and announced that he would join Police force. The activist turned chief minister confirmed that before becoming a successful CM, he requires to improve Delhi police so that he could implement right law and order.
"When I was an activist I thought the entire political system was corrupt and to clean it up I required entering in the system. However, now when I entered in the politics I feel its India's police force which is more corrupt and I need to become police to clean it up," said Arvind Kejriwal who was ready to protest in Delhi over alleged police inaction.
Kejriwal said "I will start as Police constable and will check the corruption from root levels. How do they deny minister's orders? How don't they obey orders of higher authorities? I need the answers. I need to improve the system, to remove the corruption, to make police force more obedient to ministers, work faster on rape cases and make it more aam aadmi friendly. I have also invited former CM of Delhi Sheila Dikshit and BJP leader Dr Harsh Vardhan to join me in fighting corruption in Police force."
Ruling out efforts to create Aam Aadmi Police Force, a horizontal police force to current one, Kejriwal said that to clean up the system he would need to enter in the gutter rather than creating new one."I have learnt a lot from my AAP experience. This time rather than creating new mess, I will enter in the older one and as a responsible constable I will clean up the system," said Kejriwal.
